It is true that I find it hard to select the perfect dream outfit for my special occasion, that I’d be so looking forward to. I was entering yet another decade of my life and everything had to be perfect for that day. Therefore, months before my ‘birthday’, the hunt for the dream dress was on. I knew finding what I actually wanted, that was, something so dreamlike, out of the world and magnificent, in my price range and accessibility, wasn’t as easy as falling off a log!

I still had about a month before my birthday, when I came across Hussain Rehar’s collection on Instagram. I had been getting glimpses of his work earlier also. But this was when I really took out the time to actually, extensively, take a look at the creative work of this design house. I might have felt a bit skeptical in the beginning, but as I observed, I had to convince myself that each and every design was a piece of art.

After scrutinizing each one of his designs, I had finally made up my mind that the glamorous outfit I wanted for my day had to be ordered at Hussain Rehar. And so, on my next visit to Lahore I was there at their studio. I was sure what I had to order. As I had already chosen this gorgeous red embellished shirt. I fell in love with it as soon as I laid eyes on it. And I liked the velvet pants in the same color to go with it.

They certainly had mastered the art of creating chic eclectic designs with breathtaking handwork to amp up the outfit. For a while, it did become difficult to decide between many of the dresses since their designs were made to appeal a wide variety of fashion tastes.  But I was then sure it had to be the red one!

The creations were mostly a selection of straight cuts. Each one of them lavishly embellished with light reflecting sequins, beads, gems and much more. Hussain Rehar has mostly chosen to create rich jewel toned dresses with unexpected mix and matches. There is also a wide range of fabrics used in the creations such as velvets, moon light, organzas, printed silks and much more. Whether one wants something soft and romantic or popping with color, the Hussain Rehar designs are a pure experimentation of style.

Chrissy Teigen-worthy waves? Check.

Extravagant dress? Double check.

So, while hunting for that perfect birthday dress, why settle for anything less than spectacular? After all, every birthday is a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
